What Is Hand Rejuvenation?
Hand rejuvenation involves two separate treatments:
- Injectable Soft Tissue Filler: Long-lasting soft tissue fillers like Radiesse make an excellent choice for hand rejuvenation. The filler is placed very precisely to hide and soften the appearance of tendons and veins on the top of the hands, which takes years off immediately.
- Laser Treatments: The hands are exposed to an awful lot of sun in a lifetime, and sun damage can make them look years older than they actually are. Specialized laser treatments like IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) therapy can drastically lessen the appearance of brown spots with nearly no downtime.
Does Hand Rejuvenation Hurt?
Both parts of the procedure are surprisingly comfortable! In our office, we typically use numbing cream for the filler injections and for the laser treatments, so you won’t feel much of anything.
When Will I See the Results after Hand Rejuvenation?
The results of the filler treatment to hide the tendons and veins will be visible immediately. With the laser treatments, the brown spots on the skin will initially get slightly darker, and then gradually lighten and fade over the next 2-3 weeks. Occasionally, it’s necessary to do small “touch-ups” of either the filler or laser treatment to get a perfect result, but this is a very easy and comfortable thing to do.
How Long Does Hand Rejuvenation Last?
Fillers such as Radiesse can last up to 12 months (sometimes longer in the hands), but the laser treatments are permanent.
