I had an abdominoplasty with liposuction of the flanks with Dr Vendemia four months ago and I couldn’t be happier with the entire process from start to finish. The results are amazing and far better than I expected. I am so happy with my new stomach and feel like a completely different person. I have been considering a tummy tuck for seven years after having my two children, both of whom were induced at two weeks overdue and were relatively large for my small frame. My stomach muscles were torn and I had lots of excess skin, features that I could not change despite eating healthily and exercising a lot. Dr Vendemia was the fifth surgeon I consulted over several years but he was the only one that I felt comfortable with. In fact two of them said I was not a good candidate for abdominoplasty because of my short torso (which would result in a scar above the bikini line) and skin damage. By contrast Dr Vendemia considered me an excellent candidate for the surgery. He was very reassuring and compassionate but also honest about what I could expect at every stage. He gave me advice about choosing a surgeon that was helpful, regardless of whether I decided to go ahead with him or with someone else. I am truly amazed at some of the solutions I was offered by other less scrupulous surgeons (including operating under a local anaesthetic) and very happy I decided against them. I was particularly nervous about having a general anaesthetic as I had never had any kind of surgery before, but everyone at the clinic was also great, as was the anaesthetist. During the surgery Dr Vendemia found I had a significant hernia which he also fixed. Unfortunately I developed a seroma after my drain was removed and Dr Vendemia was also brilliant throughout that. I returned for two extra consultations and had it manually drained and it disappeared very quickly. His clinic is very calm and clean and he was always on time for my appointments. The recovery was as expected, and I took two weeks off work, although the pain was not as bad as I thought it would be and I didn’t need the extra strength painkillers. My scar is completely covered by my underwear. I have now returned to all the activities I did beforehand including running, yoga and spinning. I feel so much better in my own skin. I recently wore a bikini for the first time in seven years and have been happily playing around on the beach with my kids. I would completely recommend Dr Vendemia to anyone looking for a similar procedure.
